Stuttgart. In the world rankings, Coco Gauff is currently listed at No. 6. In the minds of all the experts, the 18-year-old youngster’s career will however continue its upward trend. Last year at the French Open in Paris, she reached the singles and doubles finals. In contrast to other top players who mainly concentrate on their singles careers, Coco Gauff often plays doubles. It is something she really enjoys and does with success as she and Jessica Pegula secured the doubles titles last year in Doha, Toronto and San Diego, as well as last week in Doha. As one of the youngest players ever, she achieved the feat of being ranked simultaneously in the Top 5 of the singles and doubles.

“I always love coming to Stuttgart. The quick indoor clay court is right up my street and the tournament is something special on the WTA Tour”, says Coco Gauff. “The crowd creates a fantastic atmosphere and supports all the players.”

Emma Raducanu made tennis history in 2021. At the US Open in New York, the Porsche Brand Ambassador became the first ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam. At last year’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, she made a successful clay court debut when playing impressively to reach the quarterfinals. In the last eight, she however succumbed after a hard-fought match to the eventual tournament winner Iga Swiatek. She nevertheless enjoyed the long-standing tournament in the Porsche Arena to the full and is eagerly awaiting her return to Stuttgart: “Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is one of the best tournaments on the calendar. The Porsche Arena’s Centre Court is brilliant. I’m also looking forward to a drive or two in a Porsche sports car and experiencing more of the brand, like visiting the factory.”

“We’re delighted that Coco and Emma have confirmed their coming. They are two fantastic prospects and will enrich our event,” said Tournament Director Markus Günthardt. “Coco stood in last year’s doubles final, and Emma is a Grand Slam champion. Despite the tough competition at the tournament, both definitely have the potential to be in the running this year for the singles title.”

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo as the winner’s car
The winner of the 46th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will receive a Neptune blue Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo. An electrifying main prize: the practical all-rounder amongst the electric sports cars impresses with outstanding performance and a large range. Ever since the first Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, which was held in 1978, the victor has always been able to take a Porsche sports car back home with them – a tradition that is highly popular amongst the players. Once called the “most beautiful winner’s trophy on the WTA Tour” by Angelique Kerber, the tournament week’s main prize sits majestically for all to see on the rostrum at one end of Centre Court. The players therefore have it in full view during every match, and there can be no greater motivation.
